How is the mathematics represented?
The tech tool uses a virtual game for students to complete the activity. Students will be engaged while practicing and as they continue to get answers correct the levels become more difficult.
4. What role does technology play?
The technology allows students to get immediate feedback about whether they have chosen the correct answer. The disadvantage to this tool is that students do not need to type out the expanded or standard form themselves, they only need to choose from the given possibilities.
Affordances of Technology for Supporting Learning
5. How does the technology fit or interact with the social context of learning?
This game is played individually.
6. What do teachers and learners need to know?
Students need to know how to write a number in both standard and expanded form. Students need to have a keyboard in order to steer the PacMan on the screen.
